Adopt a Pet with ALIVE Rescue

February 3, 2017

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, snuggle up with a rescue puppy from our February charity of the month, ALIVE Rescue.

Located on Belmont Avenue in Roscoe Village, ALIVE Rescue was founded back in 2008 with the purpose of rescuing and providing a safe haven for animals. While they originally worked solely through foster homes, they now have a facility called “The Little Barn” where they are able to take care of their rescue animals, and run operations with volunteer foster families.

In the past years, Flowers for Dreams has put emphasis in supporting different non-profits that help animals. Our former pet-centered charities include One Tail at at Time and Pits for Patriots. For 2017, we wanted to support yet another animal shelter, so ALIVE Rescue seemed like the perfect fit.

ALIVE Rescue believes that every animal has the right to a well-balanced and happy life, so they make sure to save, rehabilitate, and place both abandoned and abused animals into loving forever homes. On top of that, they give all ages and breeds of rescue pets the proper medical and behavioral support they require.

Something central to ALIVE Rescue’s mission is to not only save animals and educate the public, but to also promote sustainable living for their adopted pets. All foster homes are provided with eco-friendly pet supplies, bio-degradable utensils are used at events, only vegetarian and vegan dishes are served, and all appliances at “The Little Barn” facility are energy-efficient.

To support ALIVE Rescue and all of the rescue animals they help, send a bouquet to a loved one for Valentine’s Day or another occasion.
